Mission Statement:
As shepherds of our children's education, we are dedicated to loving, teaching, correcting, and encouraging our children.
The goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, teaching to the best of our ability, and encouraging from a sincere faith.
As our world constantly changes, we will maintain Biblical standards, instill Christian character, and preserve traditional family values so that our children will become the Godly leaders of tomorrow.
Our purpose in homeschooling is to, by God's grace, raise God-fearing children who are spiritually wise and academically knowledgeable.
We believe learning is a lifelong adventure. We believe children are uniquely made in the image of God. We believe in the freedom to wonder, to ask, to explore, to imagine and to create. We believe that parents are the best people to educate their children.
We want our children to learn well, love big, and above all, put Jesus first.
Who We Are?
Explorers Homeschool Co-Op is a Christian, science-based, homeschool group of moms/grandmas and children in Cañon City, Colorado. Little Explorer’s co-op was established in 2017 by three moms who wanted to start a hands-on, science-based group for our children to learn and explore God’s creation. In 2021, Little Explorer’s dropped the "Little" and became Explorer’s Homeschool Co-op, as we didn't just have little kids anymore. Then, in the summer of 2022, Livingstone Calvary Chapel of Canon City adopted the co-op as one of their ministries. With this partnership, the co-op has been able to add enrichment classes for students. Some of these are S.T.E.M., sewing, Spanish, cooking, art, etc. All co-op classes are parent-led, currently preschool through 5th grade. We will add grades as our children are promoted. The co-op meets Tuesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m., September - April.
We use faith-based science curriculum to build our children’s knowledge and faith in God.
We allow our children to learn through play, books, and hands-on experiments. We will go outside each meeting (weather permitting).
